Welcome to The Aligned Professional, programs for professionals who are tired of the constant stress and feelings of burnout associated with the good works we do. It doesn't have to be this way.
That's why Debra Battistella, MS, OTR/L and Heidi MacAlpine, OTD, M.ED, OTR have joined forces for a wonderful collaboration to support professionals in stepping out of stress and into calm confidence.
As part of our extensive experience along with our commitment to personal and professional development and continuous learning, we want to address the current challenges voiced by healthcare and education professionals such as stress, trauma, and burnout due to workload capacity exceeding tolerance levels.
Much of our learning has been around understanding nervous system regulation, emotional intelligence, trauma, healing, and the impact of stress on our emotional and physical well-being.
The longer we work in practice, the more we question the lag in integrating this important information, so Heidi and I are here to do something about it.
We’d be thrilled to have you join us in this forward motion towards change!
The Aligned Professional Mini Course is all about gaining the confidence and competence you need to re-ignite your passion and create a meaningful impact in your professional community.

Heidi MacAlpine, OTD, M. ED, OTR, is an author, podcaster, educator, and holistic healthcare practitioner with 35 years of experience working with children and their families, developing and implementing programs and interventions that help meet the individual and unique needs of her clients and the community. Her private practice, Align OT, based in New York, uses creative and meaningful evidenced-based and neurodiverse programs such as Safe & Sound Protocol, myofascial release, equine therapy, and yoga in naturalistic environments that stimulate and, entertain the eight senses, and aligns the nervous system, using Sensory Alignment Therapy ™, Unyte Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), and Trauma- Informed Care. She has brought her tools and techniques into the community to educate, support, mentor, and supervise occupational therapy students from different institutions to further their understanding of the value of emotional and physical well-being through self-regulation and co-regulation to improve quality of life. One way this was achieved was by developing and integrating a wellness program to prevent burnout with a community partner at a fieldwork site. Email Heidi at Heidi.alignOT@gmail.com.
